PLATTE COUNTY COURTHOUSE
The front section of the present Platte County Courthouse was constructed in
1867. The North addition to the courthouse was completed in 1979. Blanche
Burrows of the Bonnie and Clyde gang was tried here. The first Platte County
Courthouse was built in 1840, a block west of the present courthouse. That building was burned during the Civil War by federal soldiers because of strong Southern sentiments in Platte City.
